Thursday Stories- Smoky Snoopy
Today, as I write, I'm spending a lot of time indoors.
There is a wildfire nearby, and we are downwind of the smoke.
Such is the price of living out here in the Southwest. Fortunately this one is not threatening any homes.
While other areas have floods, blizzards, ice storms and mudslides , we have wildfires.

"Smoky Snoopy "was painted in the Sedona area when there was a fire going through a nearby canyon. The rock formation resembles Snoopy laying on top of his dog house, hence the affectionate name. ( his nose is on the left side.) On this particular day, he was a bit fuzzy with the smoke; and the normally azure blue sky was in an orange haze.
This is a pastel, done en plein air, 9x12.
